LORIENT GRAND LARGE

Volvo Ocean Race 'legends' gathering at Lorient - June 2012

You may be aware that at the start of the 2011/12 Volvo Ocean Race (VOR) at Alicante, Spain in November 2011, the VOR organised a magnificent Legends Regatta. Anyone who had participated in a previous Volvo Ocean Race or Whitbread Round the World Race was eligible to enter. 630 people attended the Legends Regatta dinner.

At the Regatta, the French organisers of the VOR Lorient stopover decided that they would hold an equivalent event when the VOR reached Lorient in June this year. That is the last stop before the end of the race in Ireland.

It is called Lorient Grand Large.
VOR Lorient stopover dates: 16 June - 1 July 2012
Provisional Lorient Grand Large dates are 20 - 24 June 2012.

(Note that this gathering is not being organised by the VOR.)

Your committee is in touch with the organisers of the Lorient Grand Large and will post more information here as it becomes available.
